Title
Changing the way that interest searching works.

Short, concise description of the idea
The interest seach should be changed so that better results are obtained, especially when searching for popular interests.

Full description of the idea
At the moment when searching by interest, the site will list the 500 chronologically oldest journals to list the particular interest, then sort those by the date they were last updated. I propose that it should instead list the 500 most recently updated journals to list a particular interest, irrespective of the account's age.
An ordered list of benefits
  • Those with newer journals and communities that list a popular interest will have a greater chance of being found through an interest search.
  • Will prevent the inclusion of currently inactive and suspended/deleted accounts, leaving room for active users to be inlcuded.

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Searching in this way will probably place additional strain on the database.

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • The interest search is already there, all that needs to be changed is the way in which it searches and displays results.

interests, § duplicate, searches
