Sorry, but could you explain for me what the "navigation strip" or "navigation bar" is?

The new feature announced in the last news post, I guess.

And I concur, next/previous links could be really useful.

Sounds like a good idea, my only concern when designing the nav strip was to keep elements that could be accessed via the journal out of the nav strip because it depreciates the value of good design on journals and I don't want the nav strip to be a crutch people rely on so much. That's why it adds links to places you can't immediately reach. I might make an exception in this case cause I like the idea. I just don't want to nav strip to be overflowing with links. Part of it's appeal is that relatively minimalistic but very functional.

I like this idea. Some styles even don't have the previous/next entry links.

Opal, for one. I've been meaning to add those links to my version of Opal for ages.

Yes! Yes! =:o}

And *please*, let it work correctly even for very old entries, instead of having to resort to the atrocious Calendar method (which doesn't let you step to days that don't have any entries... Grrrr.....).

I have always been perplexed as to why this is broken. It makes it really hard to go back and sequentially catch up on a new LJ friend by reading all their old entries.

Because a link should always have the same content, so a link to "Skip=340" on a recent entries page that someone links to won't actually be relevant by the time you get around to the link.

*nods* that'll be pretty useful. hunting for the previous/next links is quite a pain.
