Short, concise description of the idea
There should be a feature that allows users to comment using their Tumblr account.

Man, it would be great if LJ supported commenting from Tumblr identities. Alas, I think that's not in LJ's hands: as I understand it, for LJ to support remote identities from a service (e.g. Google, FB, Tumblr), that service has to be an OpenID provider or otherwise provide the remote identity validation service. And apparently Tumblr doesn't do that. :(

(There is reportedly a hack that individual Tumblr users can use to make their Tumblr accounts OpenID services, and then, presumably, they'd be able to use the OpenID option in the comment form to comment as their Tumblr identity. But "edit your Tumblr layout so you can comment on LJ" is clearly not addressing what you propose.)

If Tumblr has a suggestions box, go ask them to provide OpenID services, so LJ could support comments from their users.
