God I would have appreciated these. I ran up against my thousand subscriptions some while ago (I use it as a "let me know if anything interesting is going on") and turning a bunch off didn't cut it so I don't use it anymore. Having had a counter and hence a warning would have been great, and I wouldn't be faced with a thousand "ooh, I found this shiny once!" to sift through.

I know, right?! Especially a counter, because I don't even know HOW many subscriptions I have right now, and it's going to take me forever to go through each one, count it, and then either unsubscribe or leave it as is. :O If LJ can add any of my suggestions, I hope it's the counter foremost.

Annoyingly, turning off notifications doesn'nt seem to drop the count.
