Allowing those with a purged journal to have all their comments/community posts deleted.

I could be wrong, but I believe LJ will delete comments for someone who can prove ownership of a purged journal. Currently you would have to open a support request for that. Not many people do. An automated validation system might get more use.

You're correct. The only account-related information that remains is the username and numeric user ID.

Yes, you do, but there is an option to delete everything when you delete your journal. You don't have to wait for purging for that.

That option didn't always exist, so most journals that have already been purged weren't able to take advantage of it.
