An ability that allows you to put your joined/watched communities into categories.

I went back and forth on whether to approve this, because custom groups could be used to solve this problem, but it sounds like that's not exactly what you have in mind.

My first thought was custom friend groups too. I could see having it sorted out on the profile though, perhaps according to the community's location in the Community Directory?

Maintainers submit them. This would be a good way to encourage maints to submit their comms - they'd have to be in a "misc" category until they go into the directory or something.

I definitely think there needs to be some improvements to the custom group interface... sort of like the tag editing page. More info for better decision making.
