With the addition of the ONTD userhead and the santa hat from last year, this seems to be a direction LJ is willing to go, and I think it'd be fun. :)

I'm sure some people just might not like the idea period, but I'm not one of them. ;) Frankly, it would make it easier for me to tell who doesn't need to be hit with the TOTALLY ANON Paid Account Fairy for those who have opted in. ;) (When I do have Paid Time I want to buy for others, I'd rather give it to someone who isn't already Paid, so.)

Also it would be nice to know at a glance whether an @livejournal.com address is likely to work.

The default is on, so for most people with paid accounts, it does. (The way to turn it off is pretty hidden, actually, using the Admin Console.)

Yes!
Possibly a selection or choice of colors? Or different colors for different seasons/months?

Personally, I think we should have stuck with two icons - one for members and one for staff. I'd rather not add even more.

Agreed. I'm still not even sold on the idea of *any* different userheads. Adding yet another to the mix would just be more avenues for confusion.

No thanks.
