http://www.livejournal.com/manage/profile/ scroll to the bottom of the page, select 'disable all' and then you'll never be bothered by the nasty hobbitsesVgifts

He's already done that. I know, because I tried to send him a VGift a couple of weeks ago, only to find they were disabled. He's talking about VGifts that were received prior to selecting "Disable All," I think.

Perhaps this could be a journal setting, "Automatically remove VGifts from my profile after fourteen days" or somesuch, so that those who like having them on their profile forever can still benefit.

;lkjasdf Yes, please. I don't mind displaying vgifts for a little while, because they're fun, but hohell is it an annoying process to remove them one by one by one by one grrrrrrr.

I like the way it is now, however, I'd prefer to be able to only display my favourite vgifts in the profile, so it would be best to just have a few more options.
Maybe by putting an additional vgift part in the journal style area where you can fiddle around with them (with a number system perhaps, just like sorting your vids on youtube?) and put the ones you like on top, easily remove the ones you don't like or move them to the bottom etc.

The downside to this, a minor one IMHO, is that this could possibly invite wank a la MySpace "Top Friends" (or whatever that's called). =P Of course, you can effectively do something similar by deleting all but the last twelve "undesired" ones, but they'd still be in reverse chronological order instead of order of "favoritism."

(Yeah, I know, "wank over VGifts?" you might be thinking. Let me put it this way: this is LiveJournal. XD There seems to be wank related to just about anything and everything people can think of.)

Including about what is or isn't a valid reason for wanking, apparently. Do we need a metawankdom community? :-)

You, my friend, have just made my day with that. :D

*Is almost tempted to rejoin efw just to make a post about that*

I agree it would be nice to have more control over v-gifts and how they display. Otherwise people DO tend to just turn them off (which means we can't give them to deserving souls).

But it should be OPTIONAL, please and thank you.

Yes, please!

I love virtual gifts, but I'd rather they were removed after a fortnight, rather than me having to do it.
