No thank you. If you want to invite me to your community, use the existing method. The 5 at a time limit is there exactly to avoid situations you are recommending where a maintainer decides to "invite" thousands of random strangers to join their comm.

This.

Besides, I'm assuming that the limit would be in place, regardless of method. One example of this is "friend add" lists for some communities (such as roleplay communities), which are copypasta'ed into the Admin Console. If the lists contain more than the maximum number allowed per day, the limit will still be triggered just as if the user tried to add them manually. EDIT: Er, that is, via the regular user interface (i.e. profile pages, Edit Friends page, etc.), and not via the Admin Console. Sorry for any confusion. ^^;;

And one more edit: And what I said above is just an example of another feature that uses limits, and I was just using it to explain not very well, sorry how the limits would (or should, IMHO) apply across the board for community invites the same way as they do for friend adds. Okay, me dumdum, so me shut up now. XD

+1 - I have enough "$spambot has added you as a friend" to deal with. I don't want to be mass-invited to spammy comms, too.

I wouldn't mind this as long as the 5-at-a-time (say, 5 in some reasonable number of minutes) was enforced on the console as well as from the regular interface.

+1 to add commands such as this for communities in the admin console.

For ohnotheydidnt I don't even think it's possible to load the member page anymore. I don't think maintainers can invite a member via that method or even make a modification like adding a moderator. I've checked out of curiosity fairly recently and the page didn't even load.

I know ONTD is a bit of an outlier, but I think a console command should absolutely be an option to avoid situations like that. Sticking to the 5 at a time rule as azurelunatic suggests, of course :)
