Makes sense to me. I myself have accidentally typed part of my workstation Windows password in the clear because of this. If no one's looking over your shoulder, and there is no keylogger or password stealing malware resident on the machine, then it's not much of a problem, except... much better safe than sorry, yeah. XD;

I'm not sure how placement of the cursor works... It might be a scripting thing? In which case, one drawback might be that it won't work for people who have disabled scripting or use a browser in which JS is not working properly.

Ah, derp! I didn't even know about that! 0_0 In that case, scratch what I said earlier about browsers possibly not being able to support it. XD
