LOLS OF COURSE SHE DO. But be honest, did you see that coming at all? I mean, I like that I trust the direction of the show and the direction in which the writers/producers would like for the show to go. So I suppose that's why I never suspected that Lydia would meet and end up liking one of Josie's sons. I MEAN, WHAT. Sooooo much to talk about.

I didn't! And Shunda, tbh I don't really care if there were signs pointing to it or whatever. I liked that Lydia and Rodrigo immediately had chemistry, and they were both checking each other out at the range. OH GODDDDDD LYDIA MIGHT GET SOME!

Right?! He was totally into her, and I think you're right - they were side-checking each other out. One of those, you can get it type of glances, lololol. And the benefits if Lydia were to get involved with him: he's already familiar with the cop lifestyle so there's less chance of him feeling threatened by her job. OMFG think of the potential hot sex. Lydia's attracted to him despite knowing who he is. Girl, I just.

Are you on the west coast? It's gonna be worth the wait, I think. Also, I hope you weren't inadvertently spoiled by my comment in this post. I'm sorry if you were!

OOHHHHHH, yeah you've come to the right person. Regina and Malcolm have been dating for about 3 years now! Pretty serious, I'd say. I did a little bit of stanning about it here.

LOLOL not engaged, yet. But I think they're living together. Like I said, it's pretty serious!

RK, is the reason I watch Southland, it's a good show but she was definitely the draw for me. Lydia is so badass, let her pick up a gun or run down a perp and i'm through lol.

Sn: I know you love her so I was curious if you (fangirl bias aside :)) felt like she was snubbed of an Oscar nom for Ray? She was so good in that role, I was just surprised she didn't get more recognition.

Good question! I felt like, for the amount of critical acclaim and attention Regina got, not to mention the entire film, that she was overlooked. I thought at the very least she'd get a Golden Globe nomination, simply because Regina's portrayal of Margie was always mentioned as a performance that stood out (aside from Jamie Foxx's performance of Ray Charles). That award season was amazing because the entire cast received so many accolades, but frustrating as a Regina King stan, lol.

And, you didn't ask this, but: it offends my sensibilities (lol) that she's been snubbed at the award shows for her work on Southland. I just refuse to believe that she's not consistently putting out a high caliber of work that would warrant a nomination.

One of my favorite scenes in Ray was when Margie and Ray were alone and they were arguing, and she got pissed and started singing 'Hit the Road', there was so much emotion in just that one scene I just knew she was gonna get a nom. If not the Oscars at least the Globes, smh.

I pretty much gave up on AA performers getting the accolades they deserved when 'The Wire' was ignored for so long, that still boggles my mind. She's SO good on Southland though, I just don't see how they'll be able to continue to ignore her. It seems like all we have is the Image Awards but as a HawthoRNe lover and a Jada stan, I get conflicted, esp. when Chandra is in the category too, lol.
