Personality: Upon meeting Oxford you will often form one of two opinions: that he is either a wellspoken, sophisticated individual, or an arrogant, self-centred bastard. These would both be fairly accurate descriptions of him, as he likes to swing between the two of them at a rather active pace. Though "charming" may be his default setting upon meeting others, if he decides that you're not worth his attention or intellect, then his manner will change rather quickly. He doesn't like to beat around the bush, you see, and if he sees no potential benefit from your friendship or acquaintance, he won't seek it. This isn't because he has some telepathic advantage, more that he likes to think he's good at reading people. Whether he is or isn't is another matter entirely, and so far, in his humble opinion, he's yet to be proved wrong - probably because he really doesn't like to admit to his mistakes. ( personality cont. ) One must give credit, however, to the fact that Oxford is, for the most part, a very level headed individual who takes thing as they come, usually with minimal panic. He understands the merits of staying calm when it's necessary, particularly because his power at times requires him to take on more dangerous missions (this is covered more extensively in the powers and history sections), including a very specific one that has had a profound effect on Oxford, as it resulted in the death of a man at his hands in France. The official mission report stated that he had been left with no choice in the matter, at the time, but in Oxford's opinion, he could have handled the situation better. For all the cool he manages to exudes, he strongly suspects that in this case, he had lost his nerve and the consequence had been an avoidable death. This has made Oxford more (privately) critical of himself and his actions

( sexual preferences/orientation cont. ) Being something of a Romantic (most of the time ironically), Oxford believes in love. It's something that can certainly exist between two people - or more, who knows - but he also believes that it is not necessary suited for everyone, and he would certainly count himself amongst these numbers. Of course, while he has never tried to define his relationship with Cambridge, for example, there's certainly something there, which may not be love, but it definitely extends beyond the reaches of a relationship that is purely sexual.
