Steve Irwin, R.I.P.

 As a child, I watched wildlife shows with my father quite frequently. Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, National Geographic specials, and my favorite from that time: Jacques Cousteau.

Something about those shows always captivated me. I suppose it's because in our ever-growing urban environment it's difficult to see wildlife up close. Those shows

I'm feeling kind of bad about all of this because I'm gaining interest in Steve Irwin after his passing. I never really watched his shows, and I sort of thought his followers were pretty dorky. But in seeing all the stuff about him, watching clips of him, seeing his passion and hearing his love for his life and his world, it's really hit me pretty hard. He truly was a fucking great guy. I'm ashamed I can admit that only after he's gone.
