So I'm almost done filling out stuff for JET. I haven't even sent the thing yet, and already I can't wait to find out if I got in... er, like, in March. This is going to be an agonizing wait

Best of luck! (I almost tried out for JET but decided I should go straight to grad school, or I'd never make it to grad school at all...) So if you do get in, I'll be totally jealous :)

heehee. Part of the reason I want in is that my grad program of choice basically said "yes go do that, we will like you better!" :)

I'm trying for both simultaneously, hope to get into both, defer enrollment to grad, and then have it waiting for me when I get back. Win-win-win. :D

You know, I wonder if there's a way I could see a live sumo match while I'm there. It's probably like buying a pro football ticket though, I bet it is pricey.

You totally could, if you're near the location where the matches are taking place. I kind of regret that I never saw one during the three years that I lived in Japan (one on study abroad and two on JET). I knew people who went and said it was a blast.

Good luck with the all the app stuff. From what I remember, the JET interviews are in Feb, so you could find out about that in late Jan/early Feb. And grad school apps totally suck, but you'll totally rock your app! :-)

I don't know if I'd call myself a pro, though I have been through JET and I'm currently slogging through grad school; I'd be more than happy to help you out during the process if you have questions, etc; I love talking about JET and grad school. :-)
