i don't normally do this, but GLOBAL WARMING

isn't this a known fact?

yesterday someone said to me:
"i don't believe in global warming"

I had no clue what to say.
i really don't have a stand on this issue, other than it's bad and is hurting the Earth, right?
Is there something I am missing?

People who don't believe in global warming are in denial about the difficulties the world is facing. It seems to be that denying global warming is a justification to continue on with destructive habits that contribute to the crisis.

The world does go through warming and cooling periods naturally; this is a warming period. That in itself isn't necessarily a bad thing because that is part of nature, but humans do contribute to it. For instance, we spout toxins into the air from factories, people still buy SUVs that get terrible gas mileage and pollute the environment, and even our eating habits have something to do with it (the more cows we breed for milk and food, the higher the levels of carbon monoxide are in the air and that is a problem... this sucks because I am not a vegetarian, haha). Weather is affected, ice caps are affected, and the species that live on the planet are affected ( ... )
