Crossroads Part 2

YAY!  I am so happy!

Comments below the cut

A big grin appeared on my face as soon as Lee spotted that mysterious ship on his dradis, I just knew who it was going to be, and stayed there right till the end.  I don't care how or why she's back, but she's back...this scene really brought home to me what a hopeless Lee/Kara shipper I've become.  I ( Read more... )

You know, I was watching the Anders and Tory scene thinking that you weren't going to like it! I wonder if they're meaning to show that it's his way of dealing with his grief by going after other women, but if so they're not doing a good job of it.

I wanted Kara to not show up till season 4 personally

Yes, that would have worked better, though all the poor Kara fans would have been tearing their hair out! I also agree the dialogue was a bit cheesy. I haven't come up with a good theory for her reappearance yet.

Tigh's reaction to being activated was so perfectly awesome, I don't even care about the whys or wherefores. It's like being such a frakked up human for so long totally prepared him for the worse and, well, here it is Tigh. And he's like, oh. ok.
I'm rambling, I know. I just loved the last ten minutes of that ep to pieces.

Yes, Tigh's reaction was great...I kept expecting him to say 'what the hell?' - always used to be his mantra. :)

I liked too that you could see in a way he was explaining himself to Bill, and I'm glad that Bill listened and voted for acquittal

I felt that too, and it made me glad because I've been so frustrated with Bill lately and a reconcilation between the two of them in S4 would go a long ways towards easing that.

I didn't really feel like the cylon-scene was an anti-climax since it was pretty amazing that they would all realize they were cylons and decide to sympathize/continue fighting for humanity anyway. It completely distinguishes them from the existing 7 models, and I really liked that--I love the idea of different factions within the cylons. It wasn't the same kind of dramatic suspense in the S1 finale, but it still left many plot/character threads hanging till next year.

And you know I'm a Kara-girl all the way, so you can imagine the amount of joy/squeeing the last minute inspired. It raises a LOT of questions (and leaves lots of room for fun fic/speculation) but I'm not complaining.

Yes, I can imagine! I'm very happy for you Kara fans they did that - making you wait 9 months to see if she was alive or not would have been mean.

I see what you mean about the cylon-scene - I think it's just the someone-getting-shot cliffhangers like season 1 are more my kind of cliffhangers, if you see what I mean.

I dunno, I think that anti-climax was the beauty of the cylon reveal. I mean Tigh - a cylon? Totally huge retcon WTF? But Tigh being Tigh and saying I don't give a shit - I already know who I am! Now that was all kinds of fabulous!

There's definitely a fic lurking in my head about Lee in the last four episodes, it needs to mull around a while yet though.

Looking forward to this!

Yes, I did like Tigh not giving a shit. I think it was just that (although I wasn't spoiled), a couple of people here had come up with the hearing music=cylon theory after part one, so I was half expecting it. And I was half expecting Kara to show up too (because I never believed she was really dead). So I didn't have the same 'OMG!' reaction I did to the end of season 1, where I was totally taken by surprise by Boomer shooting Adama.

I liked that he looked at Bill when he talked about shame and guilt, as well, and how honest he was when he said, "If I'd had my way, none of you would have made if off that planet." A powerful thing to say in a room full of people who were stuck on the planet with Cylons, and who are still scarred from what happened (but hey, he did change his mind and save them, right?)

I felt like these last few episodes have been Lee working out (or rediscovering after his crisis in the Blackbird, because he's not really been himself since) who he really is. I think he had pretty much given up on principles, and decided that he was going to do what he needed to do, but he wasn't going to hope that people were still honorable and worth saving. How do you stay idealist when you're running for your life ( ... )

Yes, and from a logical viewpoint, leaving the colonists behind made perfect sense. I don't think he should feel guilty for arguing that though i can totally see why he does. I'm so interested to see the fallout from all this next season - will Lee be ostracised, will he rejoin the fleet, will he reconcile with Bill (I agree yes, but they'll probably never actually talk about it as with the mutiny) and Laura (I agree yes, but it will take a while).

As for Dee... I think, deep down, she had been waiting for a reason to leave Lee for a while, and now she has it. And even if she does come back... will Lee want to be with someone who doesn't allow him to make his decisions, and who thinks the system is broken and shouldn't try to be saved? No, because I'm going to send the writers psychic thoughts to make sure he doesn't ( ... )
