It was hard, without them. It always was. Some nights he wondered how he'd ever lived alone for so long, after over a perigee of having his friends a hallway's distance off almost all the time

Sollux had been searching for Karkat since reset. He didn't come into the biodome much. He didn't really like being in the biodome. As peaceful as it may have been, it reminded Sollux too strongly of the people he'd lost. The real Sollux would have remembered how Terezi had once told him she was afraid she could smell their ashes. The ashes of the lost. This Sollux had no memory of that, but he did know the biodome should be the last place he check on his search. Even as it became more and more obvious thats where the troll he was looking for would be

And he would probably want to slap himself for this later, but for once Karkat gave into his impulse. After a long moment starting at Sollux wonderingly, he pulled against that hand, dragging him forward so he could wrap his arms around him.
"I won't fuck it up this time I swear to god, I..." he said, leaning against him, and using the position to - if anything - to hide the fact that he was on the verge of tears. "I can do this right, I'll do it right. I mean it."
"You never messed it up in the first place." he said, wrapping his own arm around Karkat and holding him close. He leaned in kissing the top of Karkat's forehead as he brought a hand up to run through his hair.
"I don't care," he said back, his voice strained with emotion. "I just...yeah." And he sniffed, giving himself away despite his best efforts, and he couldn't even really care. They were moirails now. He could do that. It was allowed.
"Yeah I had to carry you out of their purring in my arms. Eridan tried to stop me, I think he thought I was taking you off to be ravished or something." It was all pretty hysterical really. He was kind of hoping to piss Karkat off into not crying by mentioning it, but hey if it embarrassed him that was just fine too. It had been pretty embarrassing for Sollux at the time afterall.
"Oh my god." And Sollux's plan was a bit successful, in the end. He wiped a sleeve across his arms and looked up. "Can we like. Not talk about that ever again. That would be nice."
"What? Karpkat, don't tell me you don't like one of my most cherished moirail memories." Sollux said, with a laugh, finding Karkat's hand again and then giving it a squeeze.
"There's nothing even vaguely charitable about that imagery, Sollux," he snorted, but didn't actually sound that upset about it. He squeezed Sollux's hand back.
"Fine, whatever, lets get out of here. This place gives me the creeps." He looked at their hands again, locked together, and a twisted part of him smiled.

"I'm sorry it took me so long to get here."

"Thank you," he said, very quietly.

"Do you remember any of the stuff you did that night at the bachelor party?"

"Yeah. It's...kind of blurry in some places but I think so." He hesitated. "Why?"

Well, he hadn't remembered that part.
"Uh. Oh. Fuck. Wow." His face felt a bit hot at that, and he tried to keep it concealed. "What the hell."
