Interesting topic! I've had a feeling blogs are losing their popularity, although I haven't read anything to that effect. The news (at least, the American news) always jumps on a new trend like it's somehow newsworthy, so they've been talking about Twitter non-stop. It makes it hard to gauge if Twitter is actually more popular than other online formats, or just something the news agencies are freakishly excited about

I use twitter quite a lot for work, purposes. I'm a graphic designer, and I get quite a lot of tips from more established designers. So its useful.
I've been trained to be familiar with most social networking sites, as it can be free advertising for my clients. So I like it for that and, despite my moaning, Facebook is the easiest to advertise anything on. But I guess, that's because it is very simplistic, and is designed for easy use.
