Do you remember discussions about the "Order of the Salted Wound"?
The "order"/household/whatever never did get created; that name just isn't close to period practise. But I've still got the badge -- since my name was on the registration form, its ownership defaulted to me. Ironic, considering that I never have managed to get my own arms through the registration process because the papers kept getting lost by one herald or another. Over and over.

I'm sorta beyond that. I've been on the verge of putting all of my stuff up on the canton website to sell more than once. Paul keeps me from doing that.
You will always be welcome wherever I am, and anyone who tries to re-direct you away from me and the space I hold for you (both of you) will get the equivalent of a throat punch.
This makes me so very sad. The SCA seems to attract more than its share of dysfunctional people, but I still can't understand the thoughtless cruelty of some participants. Know that you are loved, if only by others of us who have also given up on contributing where it's not appreciated.
If don't know if it's that there are more dysfunctional types, or that they're just given the opportunity to be that way without censure. Some of both, I suppose. But as I've been finding myself feeling that it's not fun anymore, more and more often, I figure I should listen to that.
I have a lot of the same feeling about OSFS. "I don't need this. [X] has been such a loathsome person on so many occasions that I don't want to encounter them even when they aren't being an ass. I don't want to have to be polite to them just because I know that if I am publicly rude when they aren't, it will make me look like the jerk."
