He saw, just before he gasped, the smoky image of a horrible face in the rising dust, teeth and cold darkness of eye sockets directly in front of his own before it vanished as if imagined.
Made me think of HP. ha. But then again just about everything does. I like how you captured the exasperation Billy has with the ghost, and the ghost seems rather a spazz. :D I have my suspicions on who it is, and can't wait for the next chapter!
Made me think of HP. Hah, you know it's entirely possible that I might have unconsciously projected from that, since I believe I actually began writing this story a few months after the last HP book came out in '07.
Iiiiiii love this story. It flows so well -- the pacing is fantastic. It feels like a really fun, fleshed out ghost story. (Well, at this point. I assume there will be whodunnit angst?)
