Christmas Story

Aug 18, 2010 23:53

I got a Christmas story accepted by Silver Publishing today for their 25 Days of Christmas. I wasn't expecting such a quick response - 24hrs! It's really exciting.

Also... this is for you authors. Is it better to blitz out the stories to the publishers or pace yourself? I haven't got too many left but there are one or two more I could send out.

backpack, silver, submission, christmas fic

Hey you... have updated the other one...

You need to have time for when they send back edits. Also you will find the publisher will pace you out anyway. Well Silver do... nods...

Ah, ta. I've been meaning to give you the author's blurb I wrote about me to put up. It's on the computer I chucked tea over but I'll rewrite it.

Actually I only have three more stories to give out. Btw, Silver won't accept Twisted Creature because they're only doing M/M now. It says so on their site.

*yawn* One more essay to go after today's break (daughter's b'day) and then I can concentrate on being an author for a while.

Congratulations. No answer for you, I'm afraid. I don't write fast enough to have that problem.

Oh I don't either. This are just J2AU stories that I wrote over the past year with the vague idea of getting them published. Normally I'm a very slow writer.

Hello and sorry to drop in like this...

I was going to submit a Christmas story to Silver but was wondering if they were still accepting. I was writing a Halloween story for them and they closed submissions a month early! I've never heard of a publisher doing that before.

Now I am having trouble even finding where they are accepting Christmas stories and am wondering if they have closed that as well, even though the deadline isn't until Nov 1st.

Do you know where the call for submission is? ANY help you can give me would really be appreciated!

Thanks and (((HUGS)))

Hi,

Nice to meet you. I had a look at their special submissions and it looks like they've already closed it.

Have you tried Torquere? They are looking for submissions in quite a few areas. Also, they haven't sorted out the Halloween submissions yet, but I can't promise they are still accepting.

Good luck. May I friend you to keep track? It'll be my alterego nightporters, as I forget to look at my flist here.

Hey! I would love to friend you both here and as xxxx, as that is where I keep my stuff posted as a writer. I try and do both, but you know...

I have sold three stories this year.

One to Torquere, in their Cherry on Top anthology (that story is called My Best Friend). http://www.torquerebooks.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2733

The other two were to Dreamspinner Press. Thos stories are Soul of the Mummy and Just Guys. http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/store/index.php?cPath=55_276... )

You're right. It does seem rather odd.

I'm frantically trying to finish a novel for Dreamspinner at the moment so I didn't bother with a Halloween or a Christmas story there.

I sent a Halloween one to Torquere but it's a M/M/FTM, so not exactly what people are looking for. The Christmas one I had already written last year in fandom.
