It's quite hard to when you hear the entire population babble about her. I never read them, my little sister is a fan of hers though.

From what she defends, she likes the concept of it.

I think most of the problem is in teen fiction rather than modern adult fiction. There's books like "The Things they Carried" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns" and "Kite Runner". Those are all good.

Teen fiction these days is swamped with vampires, I don't get it.

It's rather insulting to writers in the world. Most of them start out rather young, and decide to go with the flow.

Even some of the seasoned vampire authors works are horrible. For example Ann Rice. I remember reading halfway, and found the rest of the book boring.

I've never read any "vampire novels". They just seem really silly and unrealistic. I guess this is more incentive not to.

I'm pretty sure there's bound to be at least one good vampire novel out there. You just have to shift through the ones with sparkly vampires, and the long winded books about vampires.
