His Dark Materials ficlet for expositionary

Oct 08, 2006 21:38

There really isn't a His Dark Materials fandom as such, is there? In terms of fanfic, anyway - the only community I could find on LJ was decidedly dead. This strikes me as a great tragedy, especially after I got such a kick out of writing this.

Lord Asriel/Mrs Coulter, 300 words, PG-13. For expositionary.

Five things Asriel regrets not having done. )

fic, fandom: his dark materials, lord asriel, fic: his dark materials

(Someone rec'd this on marisa_asriel)

I flailed with delight over this one. Even the last part. Everything flowed so naturally that I can't help but fall in love with it. Therefore, added to my memories.

Thank you.

(Aha! That explains a lot.)

I'm so pleased this worked for you, thank you very much!

Asriel is very interesting. And his view on everything, from the beginning and with Marissa, is wonderful.
Asriel wondered if he could claim to have anything at all to do with it.

That last sentence was a bit of a kick in the teeth, but pullmans ending was a bit of kick in between the legs for me! It was fab, well done.

Late reply squad ahoy! But thanks so much, and yes, the whole canon's a bit of a kicker really isn't it?

Here via marisa_asriel. I'm rereading the trilogy so I can teach it next week, and got distracted by my deep and abiding desire for Marisa/Asriel fic.

Oh. Oh, my God. The imagery is breathtaking, and that last section in particular is just gorgeous. And awful. And wonderful, all at the same time.

Thank you very much indeed! And I'm jealous of your teaching it, that must be all kinds of fun.

So, I just finished (re-)reading The Amber Spyglass about thirty minutes ago (though it has been such a long time since my last reading, so I might as well have been going through it for the first time), absolutely bursting with love for this trilogy, and I thought to myself, "Hmm, who else dabbles in HDM-related things? Amy!"

That is why I am commenting on a post you made almost two years ago, and oh, this hurt but it is so, so good. ♥ ♥ ♥

And now that it is late, I shall slink away before I spam your journal with any more incoherence. ^^
