This is moment is such a perfect characterisation of Kaylee:

"Kaylee," Inara said again, then reached for Kaylee's neck and drew her in to claim a fast, imprecise kiss.

"Oh!" said Kaylee, startled. "Really?"

Just wandering ... had to stop and say this is lovely.

The things unsaid: Kaylee understanding "It's been a long time.", and Inara redirecting "That was --" to "The most fun I've had in a long while," were touching, and perfect for a first time(?) between these two.

Loved the last line.
