Is there any food that you'll be allowed to eat that the family will also be allowed to eat? 'Cause we could kill a few birds with one stone that way.

Not for a while, no. I'll be on the shake diet til surgery, and then I'll be on a seriously restricted diet for about 6-8 weeks after.

Also, recovering from major abdominal surgery will probably not have me wanting to cook. I don't heal fast.

Parents get better with age, because the "insanity affects" of having children slowly diminish with time.

Or else, they just look saner because as we age we run afoul of the same things they've been fighting for years.

Dunno, but it's got to be one of those.

That aside, I'm hoping the surgery thing works out for you.
