Sociobiology is bunk. Cultural Materialism provides a much, much better explanation for altruism, which includes the "inclusive fitness" concept.

I'm not advocating for a whole theoretical structure, and I certainly don't think that even the simplest of societies is driven solely, or even primarily, by genetic influences. I just think it's interesting that these lizards have developed co-operative, even self-sacrificing behaviors without the benefit of consciousness or empathy.
