Alasdair's such an awesome guitar player. It's pretty unorthodox, the way he plays, and it's such a sweet sight when he does the leads without a guitar pick.
I was quite surprised at his virtuosity. Their albums sound so layered, I always assumed there were lots of guitar overdubs. But live, he managed to seemingly play rhythm and lead at the same time, and managed to make it all sound so effortless. They covered Television's "The Fire" and he gave Verlaine/Lloyd a run for their money.
Yeah Al's annoyingly good isn't he! :) Haha you drank TEA with them til 2am? Were they on their best behaviour or something - I've been out drinking with the Clientele and... well don't remember a lot of it really! ;)
