It's good that Maureen has Cynthia there for her. It's sort of 'funny'. How Ringo's inner circle of friends/The Beatles aren't really giving her the support she needs, George being the exception. Far too wrapped up in the business end of things. It's the person, outside of what I image once was a tight knit circle of friendship that is giving her the support she needs. Not that Maureen needs permission to be happy, but I'm sure that enjoying life, there must be a certain amount of guilt she's carrying around with her. For her to have that moment of happiness with Cynthia doing something so simple as going to the park was long over due for her and well deserved. I hope to read more from you soon.

It's not that the other three Beatles are being deliberately arseholes/not supporting Maureen. Okay, the other two, because George is being decent enough, and you'll see next chapter how Mal really took over above and beyond for the service. So Maureen has allies in the very tight inner circle. It's just that Paul and John are very caught up in their versions of what needs to be dealt with. And their own worlds. Paul is worried about the business end, and John is ...well, he's John so it's a mix of things. Anger, hurt, sadness and a desire to lash out ( ... )

I hope Maureen realizes sooner rather than later that Ringo would want for her to find happiness. It's important for her to allow that for herself. Maybe, Cynthia will show her the way.

Yes, not everyone in the inner circle is horrible. They just looked quite bad during that business meeting. George and Mal are the exceptions, of course.

Don't stay away for too long. I want you to keep the momentum going.

Nightmare memory. While everyone else 'involved' in this situation is struggling... Maureen is the sole keeper of the memory of finding her husband in such a horrible state. The one person who really could have used a buffer, someone to hold her back and say "You need to remember him as he was." Because that is the haunting right there: While she'll be able to accept it and move on, it will never completely go away. Because he's famous, obviously, but also because she will continue to raise his children and see him EVERY DAY in their eyes, mannerisms, and a host of other stuff. UGHHHH ( ... )

Maureen definitely is in a position I will NEVER envy. It's bad enough that her husband is gone, worse that he removed himself, and absolutely at the worst that she had to find him. It's definitely an everlasting memory and I'm sure it will come into play again. Flashbacks are a guarantee. Maybe not as full on but bits of that. And you bring up an interesting point about their boys. I see Maureen being hyper protective of them for a long time and wanting to keep them absolutely safe. But all the same, that they're so much like Ringo, it'll be good, hopefully it'll help her remember her husband as he was most of the time, the good of him. And having them be so young, she'll have to help them remember or at least know him in someway so she'll have to get to a place where she can remember him in a good light ( ... )
