Death Bed

“Saturday, Donny, is Shabbos, the Jewish day of rest. That means that I don't work, I don't get in a car, I don't f*cking ride in a car, I don't pick up the phone, I don't turn on the oven, and I sure as sh*t don't f*cking roll! Shomer Shabbos!”

I saw through the hypocrisy of the Sabbath at a young age. The devout made a show of attending service, but were more concerned with the impending football games or the latest gossip.

The Sabbath is a time to care to your own personal needs. To allow the day to wash over you with no obligation. Shut out the world and work and your observance will have a cleansing effect on you.

Most people can't afford to shut out work.

We really should gather together all the examples of this as we can find, where a fundamentalist interpretation of religious dogma conflicts with human decency or common sense. It would make an interesting read.

I find this site rather dubious.
After reading the FAQs I still couldn't figure out if it was legit or not.
It looks bad enough to be real. The site design is reminiscent of the poorly designed 90's homepages and all it's missing is an annoyingly looped midi.
It's also an insane enough idea to be real.
Perhaps my mind has developed a survival mechanism that causes me to be skeptical of any idea that could have easily been a Monty Python sketch. It wants to preserve the hope that humanity hasn't gone off the deep end again, because in the reality of the year 2009 no one can be that preposterous.

Sometimes I wonder if the Pope is simply trolling and mistakenly gets people to agree with his opinions.
Certainly condoms aren't going to be a cure-all, but they couldn't exactly hurt in the way he thinks they will ... unless he's thinking everybody only gets one.
Humanisation of sexuality is also a good idea. If only we didn't have to choose between the two, if only there was a way to employ the use of both simultaneously... hm....
