*sigh of relief*

I was checking my bank account, and right now I have a bit over $4800. This means, that at most I'll have to get a loan of $3000... and working at NYSC will result in $1500 paycheck that can be used to pay back the loan. In other words, if I get a student loan I can repay half of it by August, thereby not only reducing the interest-effects, but ( Read more... )

Yay for us growing up and taking on our own finances. I will be jobless when I return in August...choices choices. Anyways. All the best, I hope it goes well for you and instead of 1500 back you're job so amazing that you will only have 500 to pay off...hey we can hope lol good night.

lol, well freshman year was the only year my parents paid for anything my scholarship didn't. Since then, I've been paying for more and more of it on my own. This year, my parent's haven't had to pay a dime.

& my Science Camp payment is pre-agreed to which I think is about $1700, but I like to count on less and be "pleasantly surprised" ;)

Thanks =) Good luck on finding a job this fall!

Wow, that's so awesome that you're going to be able to go to China by your own money!! I've booked a trip through an outside company to go to Costa Rica next summer (2010) and my parents basically threatened that I HAVE to pay it all on my own haha. But that's great that you can work everything off so soon! I was looking into working at a summer camp this summer, but I can't because of summer school. Almost all camps in AZ expect you to be there from the end of May through the beginning of August and that just wouldn't work with taking BIO 202 over the summer.

And it's okay--being dirt poor is the best way to get through college. It's a learning curve :)

WHOA. We definitely have the same layout and I didn't realize it. I thought I was clicking "Friends" to see my friends, but when I did, I didn't recognize anyone even though it was the same layout and background! It took me a second to realize what happened :) The layout is so nice and Spring-y :)

Costa Rica sounds like fun! lol.
I guess the fact that it's not until NEXT summer gives you time to save...on that note, good luck with the job

Exactly :) Time can be a good friend some times. A lot can happen in between now and next summer!

The trip is EF College Break, it was super cheap and they have all kinds of trips that go everywhere--including Spain and Italy! You should check it out, most trips even include breakfasts and lunch, and all the trips include airfare. That's if you're into the group-trip thing, o'course :)

Thanks for the luck on the job, I need it now more than ever to try and save if my scholarship goes out on me. And thanks for the kind words on my most recent entry about the scholarship. I haven't seen you in so long and I miss seeing you! :(
