What is it about certain actors that, for lack of a more elegant way to put it, makes me want to jump their bones? Across the span of SIXTY gd years? Seriously.

Michael Powell is a genius. The Red Shoes is my favourite film of his, an absolute masterpiece. I recently watched The Thief of Bagdad for the first time, and it fantabulous. Really beautiful (of course) and far more fun and exciting than most modern films. Thanks the pics and the commentary!

I'm feeling you on this one. I haven't seen this movie, but The Sheikh, with Rudolph Valentino, does it to me every single time. The guy doesn't even say a word (since it's silent... well, anyway) and I'm right there, wishing for a time machine so I can go jump his black-and-white self. Apparently, I'm going to have to add another film to my Netflix queue, and see what it inspires!
