TEAM DEBBIE PELT! OF COURSE I AM ALSO TEAM ALCIDE BUT I NO LONGER WANT ALCIDE/SOOKIE BECAUSE SOOKIE HAS LOST ALL CHARM FOR ME AT THIS POINT AND ALCIDE CAN DO BETTER. BUT I LOVED DEBBIE ACTUALLY.

THE LAST EPISODE WAS MADE OF WHAT THE FUCK AND MADE ME MORE PISSED OFF THAN I HAVE BEEN AT TV FOR QUITE SOME TIME

SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOCK

Two things I have difficulty believing: 1) Giving that company your time for free and 2) I totally forgot about Beirut's new album. What even!

Sorry, did someone say hooker!fic?!

I lost it with true blood in season 2, but my partner still watches. I really wanted Sookie to be good (I don't mean morally good - ho ho - I mean a good character: interesting, flawed, etc etc,) but couldn't stick it out, and have to say Bill does not do it for me. I liked all the side characters best, but still think the opening credits are the best bit.

Oh god, Sookie and Bill are the worst things about that show. I do truly try to like her (because they make it so easy to hate female characters always, and I get stubborn), but I really do think they place undue emphasis on her sex life and girl detective shenanigans, which are preeeeetty dull.

At the same time, other characters find her as annoying as the audience does (Pam, in particular) so it is kind of tongue-in-cheek, too.

And yes! The opening credits! I have never skipped through them, not once!

I'd never heard of Dan Savage. Thanks for the link - interesting.

OK, the Debbie thing confused me a lot. I can only think that essential stuff got cut from those scenes? I mean.. she was at her home, the pack leader (bigger, stronger dude, and also with power to kick her out of the pack) barged into her home, brought the little girl he kidnapped, and tried to persuade her to leave town with him. She was trying to placate him the best she could, because the only way to talk to crazed scary werewolf is to say "of course, I totally agree with you, and you are awesome" BUT she was also not agreeing to come with him, telling him he should go, or did I miss something? As far as I could tell, she did not participate in the kidnapping, did not invite him over, and her only "sin" was possibly enjoying his interest in her.. suddenly, her man bursts in, but instead of being on her side, he treats her like she is ...well, you saw. I just don't get it. It made a lot more sense in the book, and no sense in the show :/

EXACTLY. I mean, even if she was legit tempted to run off with him, what kind of crime is that? Whatshisnuts was actively preying on her in the way he preys on everyone: and we already know he had a history of showing up and telling her what she wanted to hear just to get her onside with him Ugh. Alcide was being Grade A Crazyface with that one. And meanwhile, Britt Morgan in interviews is all, "yeah, that was always the way the character would go, she's a classic flameout" ... what the fuck what the fuck? Is there no such thing as a redemption story for female characters? Is that it?

I am so tragically d-faced about this whole thing. I have not read the books, so I can't speak to her treatment by Harris, but she was getting the pointy, botulism-coated end of the stick on the show. My heart fucking breaks for her.

I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU, DEBBIE PELT. D:

man, it's such a shame that season four didn't pay out - I haven't seen more than like, half of season one, because I've read all the books (shut up), and I really liked the fourth book because oh man, amnesia!Eric is hi-larious. the next awesome book is season six, but it sounds like they've gone off the rails on the plots that count, since the fairies don't even show up (being named fairies, that is) until like, book eight.
