Unf, [when I started writing this post this morning it was] 7a.m and I [had been] been up for three hours and am [yup, still] ready for bed now. Last night = Final Fantasy @ Knox United. HE HAS A SIDEKICK NOW? WHO PLAYS UNNAMEABLE GUITAR PARTS DURING "MANY LIVES" AND ALSO ADJUSTS HIS KNOBS FOR HIM? Also, Bloc Party's "This Modern Life" for an ( Read more... )

I am pretty sure that the Bloc Party cover changed my life. Now I feel disappointed every time I listen to the original! SAD.

The number of band references Kat actually got in this post: 0

Whenever I see "Final Fantasy" (ok, I might have recognized that name because I've seen you mention him before), I NEVER think of a band, just the video game. So in my mind, there were little video game dudes with swords running around making pilaf.

Although, I guess that makes Rural Alberta Advantage the Guy Vanderhaeghe of Canadian indie music. Or more likely the Gil Adamson, given their mutual love of the Frank Slide. And then Corb Lund can be the Fred Stenson, because everyone loves to make jokes about Albertans marrying their first cousins. My eyes actually crossed as I was reading this and then I started laughing and am laughing at this very second, with my coworker behind me asking me why I am shaking/laughing at my desk. There's like eight hundred people on that jury. And they're all the relevant sub-thirtysomething members of Canadian culture. I don't know if that makes me feel better or worse.

Dude, there's like, 132 people on that jury. THAT'S WAY WORSE THAN 800. They have to prove that they've got readers and shit, too.

I just. This guy started a blog and now he gets to decide that dumb punk bands are better than Chad VanGaalen and I want to cryyyyyyyy.

Imma have to return to this post and mention that I had not previously been aware before today that interviewees in BUTT Magazine are made to show off said posteriors in admittedly b&w glory. PLS INFORM ME WHETHER YOU DO OR DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE HECK I AM TALKING ABOUT HERE.

If you are referring to a heretofore unseen ass shot from Butt's interview (as done by Ed Droste) "Owen Pallett Singing Violinist From Canada is a Total Cuddle Slut" THEN I HAVE NOT SEEN THE ASS SHOT AND YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SHARE.

Sepia! I think the microwave and the blooming peace lily really complete the total wtf factor of that shot: taken by a professional photographer for an honest-to-god magazine? Reallllllly?

Oh Owen Pallett, you are the most unpredictable of unpredictable Canadian solo artists. O.O
