Yeah, I faked a fever. "Lori, I really don't feel so well. Can I finish the cheque run and go home?" And then the new girl bought me a chamomile tea, even though I have been nothing but dismissive to her (she lurks, like Donald Darby lurks, it's ill-bred.)

Anyway. Now you know how to get something out of me. Blatant guilt trips work 89.5% of the time. Please don't tell my parents.

But most importantly: is it your place or mine, baby? You let me know.

Good lord you're a masochist! And a saint at the same time. The ironic foils of me faking sick and you going in on a Saturday does not escape me. That's what I'm going to Halifax to do, Brooke. Learn to be like you and love my job.

But hey, if you're in the downtown area already, why don't you just drop by when you get out? I'll be here, fully clothed, all afternoon. We can go pick up deli sammiches if you skipped a meal.

PS. I found my old student ID if you still wanna go to the zoo - six bucks off admission! I love ripping off public conversation institutions!

Ha, thanks, Keri. Speaking as a wretch fangirl, I am open to the possibility. Although, I think the lack of man-rape and BDSM will probably turn most of them off. :\ I love a battered Sam as much as anyone, but honestly, it's a county detention center, not Sing Sing.

the things i would do for sam/dean at a maximum security center prison fic. hang on, have to take a moment.

okay! fic linked! who knows what'll happen, but it's bound to be funny; i think the lack of man rape might be to your favour, actually, though fandom is clamouring for fics where dean is sam's bitch in jail? pfffft, i say. sam is always the bitch. and occasionally, in this, A BATTERED WIFE. seriously, i love it so much. IT'S GOING ON THE IPOD, BABY.

Interesting take on the problems they'd have if they'd been stuck a long time. Both have more to worry about than other prisoners. (And seriously if anything had happened to Deacon they really would have been screwed).

Hey, thanks! There easily could have been a million more aspects to explore, but I ended up narrowing the focus something terrible, mostly out of laziness.

(and as an off-hand aside: it's super-cool that you're doing your PhD in Library and Information Science! I just got accepted to do my MLIS at a Canadian school this September. I keep angsting about moving to a completely unfamiliar city, but I then friends remind me exactly how many library/info specialists/students are hugely into fandom. It's actually kind of frightening.)

LOL! It's true, there are bunches of librarians (and LIS students) in fandom. I know several people friended me soon after I got to LJ just because I was one :>

Good luck with the new program! I found my M.A. went by pretty quick. Take any opportunity to do an internship, they're a tremendous help.

Oh, boys.

I’m so glad they got out of prison when they did, because this kind of alternative hurts to think about. All locked up and Sam losing it … *hugs Sam*

Good depiction of how things could have gone.

Favorite lines:

Watching him chafe, like his competence was a diaper and his zealousness the cold damp piss in it, pretty much made life worth living.

Great analogy.

“How the hell'd you do it, you cocky son of a bitch?” He looked like he hadn't slept since St. Louis.

Dean's own eyebrows rose. “Do what, Special Agent? Your wife, or your mother?”

LOL!

“My point, Winchester, is that I am getting you extradited to Missouri, and it would really help my case if you could make yourself dangerous for a little while. Beat up some thugs. Mouth off to a few guards. Hang out in solitary for a while.”

*snickers* Henricksen’s losing it a bit, isn’t he? And it amuses me.

When he got out, Sam had scabs down the sides of his face from tearing at himself during the night.

Oh, Sam.

“First things first: start screaming. I know you ( ... )

Thanks very much! Weirdly enough, Henricksen is not exactly my favourite character, but he ended up being ridiculously fun to write. There's so much baggage there - the best part is that I know they'll end up making good use of it on the show.
