I really love this. I am so jealous of your natural way of describing people so well that it makes me feel like I must have met them.

She was incapable of variation. If one day the anesthesia sheets were later than the radiology dictations she got flustered and misdelivered things. If the need arose for flexibility she collapsed and refused.

This reminds me too much of me. Having recognized a weak pattern, I must now fix it.

Wow. Your P. sounds pretty much exactly like an L. that I worked with a few years back. Lesbian but never spoke about it. Chain smoker. Couldn't handle change. Couldn't get over the death of her mother. Lives with her father who needs constant medical help. They certainly sound like they are cut from a very similar cloth.

Although, L. does have some nice qualities - good sense of humor, likes the WNBA, loves the beautiful, blonde Russian women. After we both left that job, she "came out" to me and I said "Honey, we SO already knew." She she and I continue to stay in contact and I consider her a friend.

As the others have already mentioned, GREAT entry. Thanks for sharing.
