as an intermittent user of the two irvine diedrich cafés (when i come down to visit my boyfriend who's a grad student at UCI), i will say definitively that i will miss the damn places (especially the one out on culver at the target shopping mall). the only damn bit of respite around (free internet too).
my serious condolences to you as a local - you've got what now, the gypsy den (which isn't as nice as the santa ana one), and that weird place with the patio? the manager there is a serious wanker.
I don't know kean (yet). I suppose I meant Ruba, for the weird. Is there an actual Fellini Film Show, or just a general freakscape? The few times I was there, it reminded me of the sad, unhappy, socially inept offspring of a Laguna Beach art barn and Caffe Roma (the one in SB as well as the one in Oakland).
