This is a dumb question:
Can you be struck by lightening if you're laying in bed with the window open?
Cause that's what I like to do so I can watch the weather from bed. :(

That seems unlikely.
It says something about me that I was most bothered by "one of nature's number one killers" than by the lightning danger itself.

Gotta keep us alarmed about everything.
Around every turn lurks some evil force of nature or terrorist ready to do me in and take away my freedom.
Good thing the federal gov't is around to rescue me from the rain and myself.

My dads office got struck by lightning a few hours ago. Burnt a wall, blew up a transformer and a fence motor and covered a couple cars with black.
