It's time to sign up for the fifth round of
subrosa_tennis! The intention is to encourage longer one-shots and long-fic; therefore, this round is devoted to fics of at least 3500 words, with no maximum length. As the canon has (finally) come to an end, this round will be themed canon future fics, defined as reasonable/logical continuation of the story where the anime/manga ends. This is not a mandatory theme, but replaces the theme contest; more details below.
This round, authors are allowed to submit one solo work and up to two collaborative works. There is no collaboration division; authors intending to collaborate should sign up as individuals and submit jointly. Any collaborative fics will be posted with the IDs of both authors.
Frequently Asked Questions from previous rounds are here; feel free to post a question if it doesn't answer yours!
How to sign up
Step 1: Writers interested in submitting for the single-author challenge sign up by commenting to this post by
May 31, 2008, 11:59 PM PST. Leave the following information in the comments:
LJ username:
Email:
Writing archive: (can be a link to LJ memories, a fic LJ, or a separate site)
Yes, you may start writing as soon as you sign up. ^_^
Step 2: Those who sign-up will be emailed with a unique ID. Submissions should be emailed to subrosa_tennis@yahoo.com by
September 30, 2008, 11:59 PM PST in the following format:
To: subrosa_tennis@yahoo.com
Subject: [assigned ID] Title of the fic
In the body of your email, please include the following:
Title:
ID:
Word count:
Character(s) or pairing(s):
(text of fic)
Attach your fic as an RTF (preferred), DOC, or TXT file with the same formatting. If your fic exceeds 10,000 words (or the LiveJournal post word limit), please indicate chapter divisions so that we can post your fic in proper installments. (For example, feel free to send three separate attachments for a three-chapter fic.) Please also include HTML tags for any formatted text in your fic (e.g. and for italics, and for bold, and for underlined). Mods will post fics as-is and will not format the fics besides conforming to the above format.
Step 3: Fics will be posted through
ghost_racket on or before
October 9, 2008, 11:59 PM PST. The members of the community will also be supplied with a list of all the authors that wrote for the challenge and their writing archives, in the interest of facilitating the guessing game.
Step 4: Guessers will post their guesses in an entry with screened comments. Writers are allowed to guess for all fics that are not their own. The guessing deadline is three weeks after the fics are posted (this means by
November 1, 2008, 11:59 PM PST). The game results (members with the highest percentage of correct guesses), will be revealed within 2 weeks after the reveal (this means by
November 15, 2008, 11:59 PM PST).

- Fics must be at least 3500 words; there is no maximum fic length.
- There are no restrictions on genre, rating or pairing.
- Writers may choose to write in their usual style or disguise it as they wish.
Themes and Challenges
This round will be themed canon future fics, defined as reasonable/logical continuation of the story where the anime/manga ends. Future may be defined as five minutes, five months, five years, five decades--feel free to exercise discretion. If you're unsure, please contact either
aiwritingfic or
chouta_angel.
This is not a mandatory theme, but replaces the regular theme contest. You may still submit fics that do not fit in the "canon future fic" box! Ai's Challenge this round is Seigaku canon future teamfic.
Donations for prizes are currently being taken--please e-mail the mods at subrosa_tennis@yahoo.com if you would like to donate a prize. All donors will be thanked and credited at the reveal, though you may request anonymity if you wish. A support community for beleaguered writers and their faithful readers is at
subrosa_lounge. Questions to the community or mods can also be posted there; the
Frequently Asked Questions post is a good place to start. Your mods for this round are
aiwritingfic and
chouta_angel.
