The bad/gross news is all related to me being super sick. But other than that things are going pretty well!

Good luck with your thesis! Maybe your references are all nice because they enjoy reading a good thesis.

(I think you should reconsider going for a research job. Maybe you first have to do your Ph.D., but that's worth it.)

I definitely agree that you need to know what you want to do if you're going to do a Ph.D. You need to have your own plans and your own ideas. Maybe you'll find them while you're working on your thesis. (I think that every kind of career is stressful. They are just stressful in different ways. But everywhere you have to deal with conflicts between colleagues, with too much or too little work etc.)

ALSO: after reading this week's Naruto chapter, I feel SO VINDICATED for thinking Naruto's dealing with Obito was creepy. Madara is doing the exact same thing! Although with way more panache.
