jayne's increasing horror = my increasing horror at the suggestion of Jayne/Simon. but we've had that drunken discussion before.

also, potc!! I love well-done potc fic. and that was good. except there's no "comment" link on that one, so, well, here.

ahahaha. Well, it was a request, y'know. But I don't find it horrifying, really; I just don't seem to hit it off with any particular pairing in Firefly. Somehow nothing really feels sufficiently plausible, or grabs me. Not that I can't read and enjoy any number of things, it's just one of these fandoms where I love the source material but don't feel particularly inspired to write fic. (Kind of like Nikita, which you know all about. Although someday I will write Birkoff/Hillinger, and nobody will read it but it will make me happy anyway, because awww snarky geek love.)

No comment link? huh, that's weird. I'm seeing one now, but maybe your internet is crazy or something. Anyway, thank you! I liked the way that one turned out, too.

I feel pretty much the same about all of them, too. Three or four years ago I went through a phase where I read a bunch of Angel fic (mostly Wes-related), and there's some gen/humour stuff I enjoy, but on the whole, yeah, not for me. I also used to chalk it up to the complexity of the characters and how well-developed the relationships are on the show itself, but then, as you say, other shows with incredibly complex, well-written characters/relationships still have me wanting fic (Battlestar Galactica, for example)... and some of the other things I love (all the Star Trek shows, for instance, and Star Wars for that matter) actually don't have very good characterization, but I've still never been that into fic for them.

Although, now that I think about it, Star Trek was actually my first fandom -- I was writing terrible Voyager AUs on fanfiction.net when I was 13-14 -- hmm. I just don't know, actually! Maybe it is just a Joss thing, somehow. Because, really, there's no reason why the crazy angsty UST-filled relationship(s) on BSG ( ... )

Aw, thanks! Heh. Yeah, I left it open-ended partly because I don't know what would be funnier -- if it were true or if it weren't. The thing about Jayne is that he'd have exactly the same look on his face either way, and that's the hilarious bit to me.

Also, ha, this new icon is so appropriate. :D
