A belated welcome to everyone who added this journal in the last couple weeks! Why It seems some of you are here for Death Note, which makes me wonder what the last chapter of the official English release was. (Volume 6, chapters 44-52? The return of Evil Light? Google is working for me. But, I think a week ago, someone on my f-list had the same problem: couldn't access gmail, google ads not working.

Thanks for the link to the DN omake. Now that is one ending that would have rocked instead of the ending we do get.

Do you know what happened? Did the problem go away or has it continued? And is this person also a Patriot Media subscriber?

It's annoying and scary how much of the internet has been taken over by Google. I'm locked out of deviantart, fanfiction.net, animenewsnetwork, sponsored livejournals...

I think the problem went away, since she didn't post about it again. I don't know what happened. I checked the entry, and she uses Thunderbird.

Is Google still giving you a problem?

The fake Death Note Omake was so much better than the real ending. ;_; I want my calmly evil Light back! D

He got sort of rabid toward the end, didn't he. I started wondering why the constant evil smirking and angry expressions weren't giving him away.

Yeah, he did. Plus (IMO) it spoilt the main thing that made the series great: how sympathetic and calm and persuasive Light was while still being crazy. When he got all rabid and spazzy there was no longer that sense of how he makes so much sense until you think about it and then you realise he's nuts, which was one of the main things I liked about it.

The Fake Death Note Omake is great. :) I'm now tempted to finish DN (I kinda stopped after chapter 59) to see how different it is.

I've been thoroughly spoiled through my flist. ♥ Your description sounds pretty accurate, although I suppose after 59, I'm now rooting for Light because that was what drew me into the series in the first place; Light's brilliance at manipulating everyone around him and getting away with it.

The real ending's a bit...anticlimatic. That would've been fine -- maybe even poetic -- if the manga hadn't been drawn out so long before ending. On the other hand DN after 59 does have lots of wacky hijinx and cool new characters.

Ohohoho! This omake is really fun!
Honestly, by the end of DN I kinda wanted Light to win... the ending it's not that bad, since we end up seeing Light as the crazy guy he is but... we all agree we liked it better when he was cool and calm.
Also, I really really miss L...

WOW...this ending is pretty cool. I just wish I could see L in it.
