Though honestly, Lupin's reaction made me... not really like him so much as a character. And yeah, as someone else had pointed out already, though it was something seemingly uncharacteristic for him to do, Lupin still did it anyway. His reaction could be construed as a reaction to the stress he's facing over the war and losing a lot of his good friends, which is understandable, but he does still have a new wife and oncoming child to look out for as well. I guess, Lupin doesn't handle well under pressure, but at least he's aware of that, I think.
20. YEESSSSS. COME ON, I'm sure that there were some Slytherins thinking, "Oh shiiii--, we're gonna get ripped on this later---!"
21. Definitely. It would've been better than reading about Harry and company tromping through the woods for about a third of the book.
