"a realist will end up being a happier person than an optimist."

hmmmz i thought otherwise..coz i thought an optimist wouldn't be let down easily because an optimist would be the one who views a light at the end of a tunnel...so even though dissapointments may happen, the optimist would pick himself or herself up because they know that it's not the end of the world. an optimist would continue to look forward for better days to come...

but by being a realist, a realist would acknowledge and know how the real world is like, how it functions and deals with each situation accordingly..however, realism tends to move towards the pessimistic side because a realist knows how ugly this world can be.

lol. anyways, ur post is on mainly on realism and cynicism. ahaha. i'm abit sesat :P

but.. no matter how optimistic you are... if you keep facing setbacks, that'll still break your spirit in the end right?? i mean.. there's only so much you can take.. ahha.

oh well. yea. i was trying to compare cynicism and realism lol.

Hey Suann! How's you?
Is there a semi-optimist? I think I consider myself a realist right now, but I think I wanna be an optimist sometime. There're two kinds of optimist which I categorize. The first kind is where one thinks everything will be fine. They don't really think of bad situations or how bad situations might happen if done this or done that. Or that bad situations will go away. The other kind which I'm hoping to go into more is where they know that there're highs and lows. They're aware of both, but decides that even while facing a setback, they're able to conquer their subconscious and break out of that lil dirthole. Doesn't mean they forget their past once they're out, but they'll definitely use that for future "reference", so to say. All I'm saying is, one's waiting for things to happen while the other places faith and make things happen.
That was quite a fair bit I wrote...sorry about it, but I like talking about these kinda stuff. Hope you're having fun in M'sia!

strange to think that a very opinionated cynic and pessimist like me could agree that much.
