For some reason I seem to be reading total crap. Have been trying to find stories in two fandoms that have absolutely nothing in common, and most of the stories I've read today simply suck for the same reason. The characters are simplified into caricatures and then there's some fairly unbelievable and bad porn added

No, I just finished browsing through a story where Lewis thinks about poor Hathaway having been molested as a kid. Lewis then goes to molest poor Hathaway himself, pretty much jumping him and ignoring his protestations and claims it might be wrong and sin.

No, it wasn't even a dubcon. *sigh* Sometimes I despair...

I've just read the new one, where Lewis tries to get details of Hathaway's next of kin by conning the hospital receptionist. Like there wouldn't be emergency contact details on his personnel file at work, and like in an emergency only Lewis would even think about contacting James's family! You can bet your life Innocent has all that stuff at her fingertips and would be on it the moment the poor guy hit the floor; that's what bosses do when their staff are in the front line like that. I just wish people would think it through a bit more before they write this sort of junk...

:) I just read the same one, and at first was pretty surprised it didn't fall into the cathegory of stupidity... until it did. Was glad the author didn't demonize the actual canon female characters, but of course there had to be some grr between Lewis and a nurse, over those emergency contact details.

I think people really don't get the fact that though Lewis is 'superior' in rank, he and Hathaway are partners. In reality, Innocent would be calling around and poor Lewis would be left alone panicking at the hospital. Totally agree with you on that!

Let's not say anything about the fact that I really dislike sudden revelations while the other one has just almost died, the fact you should actually call a nurse if someone who's been in a medically induced coma wakes up and the fact that Lewis' freakouts shown in the actual show don't exactly look like the one in this fic...

Oh well. Will only have to wait a week or so for the next series! Yay!

Pepper could have been worse. I hate Paltrow quite a lot, so it has to mean something that I can live with what we got in the movie.

Natasha was a whole new woman! Not a cliche! The action was great! And ScarJo held her own on screen with the rest of the cast!
I'm so relieved it's funny.:)

Loki, oh, that was basically an epic temper tantrum from nearly immortal being. Thor doesn't love him 'enough', let's fuck his shit up until he does. And considering how Loki gets to go home a proper villain and not as the prodigal son with his tail between his legs...not so bad a result for him, really.

Son of Coul is not dead until he *is*. They mentioned Life Model Decoys in the movie. Hmm?

The thing where they kind of dropped the ball on the whole Tony/Pepper was when Tony got to almost die alone in space. The contrast to Steve/Peggy was painfully obvious, and I felt totally awful for Tony for that moment.

The way Tony was all bitchy bitchface (and Steve wasn't any better) and then those two tangoed like pros when it came time to do some serious action was hilarious. The whole Pepper storyline is just kind of sad and will not stand a chance.

I really liked the way Natasha didn't just use her physical power but did the whole *wobbly lower lip* thing to deceive both idiots and Loki. Um.... or just idiots. :) She and Clint had awesome chemistry!

Will not make another comment about Renner's physique.

Loki stabbing Thor was awesome. Those two really should just shag all that anger off.

I didn't realize they'd mentioned LMDs in the movie! OMG! I love Coulson! I actually don't think I hated anyone in this movie.

I think I read about one in ten 'Lewis' fics - and even then I have to squint through my fingers. It's such a relief when they get it right - or even almost right!

I know! I shouldn't say this out loud, 'cause it's totally not polite, but that fandom is full of really really crappy fic. It's actually rather amazing, since the show and the characters aren't that complex to write.
