I have to preface this by saying that I haven't seen the movie, but I figured I'd give this a try anyway, since you wrote it.

You turn some lovely lines, especially the last one. I like the way the whole thing had this indefinable flavor of the 20's or 30's about it. I couldn't even say exactly what it was about the character voice that gave me that feeling, but it was definitely there. It was an enjoyable read, and now I think I may actually want to see the movie after all!

Am glad it doesn't sound too modern, for the setting was around 30's and I always hate historical slash that sounds... wrong somehow.

Yeah, you should see the movie! It was a lot better than I thought. Not a silly monster movie but a poignant love story between... er... an ape and a woman... Anyway...
