eh, im pretty much the same way at the hotline. i never go out to any of the after-parties and i dont talk a whole lot while im there. ive gotten pretty used to it i guess, and i think most of the other people who work there have gotten used to it too.
Personally, I get annoyed with the cliques at the hotline. They've been there in one form or another since I was just a wee trainee (and earlier). Back when I was supervisor it was often a struggle to keep the place seeming accepting of everyone (especially volunteers), not just the "popular kids"
Thinking back, it's almost like middle school all over. Sad.
Yea, the middle school "gossip" that I end up hearing due to my spectator-only position in the phonerooms is amusing and obnoxious at the same time. I'd mention names, but that would be gossip in itself...so basically, who cares, I'm happy doing my own thing :-)
