Grrrrr

or dog x coyote. We've had enough of those in my state, anyways, to warrant a law stating that you have to have a special permit for either type of hybrid...

So, wait. If your purebred golden retriever gets knocked up by your neighbor's purebred golden retriever (on "accident"), what would that be called? Other than stupid, that is.

I agree with bunn that at least with "hybrids" you know the animal's lineage, but I still don't think that's a good enough reason to give the dogs a fancy name. They ARE still mutts, but the clearly BYBs popping them out just don't want to look bad.

Heh a few years ago my future inlaws' purebred alaskan malamute got knocked up by the neighbour's purebred alsatian. Mom in law jokingly registered these guys with the council as "malasatians" (every dog has to be registered and you have to pay yearly fees for having a dog)...

and there I htought that a hybrid dog involved a domestic dog mating with a wolf, dingo or other dog species... learn something new every day from the BYBs.

"dorkies"? I almost want one just for the name!

That is exactly what an actual Hybrid is.

The ignorance in that site is so unbelieveable. THEY'RE FREAKING MUTTS.

Hybrid= a MIX of two different dog breeds, hence, it's the same thing as a mixed breed.

GRRR.
