Duskwing awoke with a start. "Awoke" was perhaps not quite the correct word to use for a disembodied spirit once again becoming aware of the mortal world, but the effect was much the same. Like a sleeping mortal rudely jerked out of a pleasant dream--which, in a sense, he had been--Duskwing stepped out of his usual resting spot and looked around
