The Gargling Halls

Oct 12, 2008 23:11

I went on a short holiday with my old father over the extended weekend.

Bad Ems is a traditional (the Romans liked it, for example) health resort famous for its many hot springs and this.

Of course my father and I, being my father and me, respectively, went hiking.

...and I took pictures and I'll just put them here.

What's wrong with these bloody cuts D:< )

shell casings, hiking, bugs and lizards :3, fog, firefox won't let me log into photobucke, bomb craters, so i had to use ie to make this post, land mines

They're beautiful pictures. I'm amazed by the closeups you can do with your camera.

Lovely photos, particularly the macro stuff.

Is that lizard a relation of daftnewt's?

Is that SLUG your MOM?

But seriously, it's a beautiful creature, innit? I wish we had lizards around here. And more slugs should be BRIGHT ORANGE.

It's a legal requirement here, so people don't step on them.

German forests are pretty neat :3 Hard to take boring pictures in them.

LICKING slugs? The poor little animals, I'd never do that! The little darlings need their slime, you know >:[

If you really do have to lick something that comes out of a German forest, I'd recommend fly agarics, we have those coming out of our ears (and back yards and flower pots and cracks in the pavement and...).

Well, yeah. If it's not poisonous it doesn't get you high, after all :I
They're perfectly good hallucinogenic shrooms, and survivable, as at least two friends of mine can testify.
There may be a certain selection effect at work with these testimonies, of course >.>

I love love love insects and bugs and spiders and invertebrates, and rigid dirigibles rigidify my dirigible :D

It was a pain to produce pictures without my dad in them, tbh - he was almost always behind me and he's still in two of the shots I've uploaded, not to mention a whole pile of others I haven't...

If you ever feel like visiting the Zeppelinheim Zeppelin Museum in zeppelintastic Zeppelinheim, feel free to drop by and sleep on my couch or something, by the way. It's maybe two hours from where I live.
