If you eat your placenta and breastfeed, the risk of PPD is far decreased.

Is that actually true?

The way I've heard it, it's all hormonal. Eating the placenta staves off the "crash" of hormones after childbirth. Most women experience this as "the baby blues" but for some it develops into full-blown depression. The placenta has provided all the pregnancy hormones in the body from around week 12 onwards so it's a huge change to the hormonal balance in the body. That, plus breastfeeding = keeping the preggers hormones alive, staves off depression, promotes bonding with baby, etc. Don't quote me. :)

Off topic, but let me just say I love your username(Coheed and Cambria), however it confuses the hell out of me when I'm looking at my friends page. My names Moriah, and people usually spell it wrong (Mariah) and everytime I glance at it I think someone on my friends list had said something refering to me...

::eyeroll::

While the question is ill-informed, you've managed to overlook a very important element and thus your own response to the question is equally stupid. I'll give you a hint: New Zealand is an island.

That respond doesn't make any sense. Where is the example of hyperbole? Where is the ridiculous exaggeration for effect?

You wouldn't, by chance, be full of shit, would you?
